The HP ProLiant BL490c G7 Virtualization Blade raises the bar for memory capacity and I/O bandwidth in a half-height blade. Coupling up to 2 Intel Xeon processors with 18 DIMM slots and support for up to 24 NICs, the BL490c G7 gives enterprise data center managers the ideal server platform for hosting virtual machines. The new servers, including the ProLiant DL580 and DL585 rack servers and BL465c and BL685c G7 blades, are now available worldwide. The DL980 rack and BL2x220, BL460c, BL490c, BL620c, and BL680c G7 blade servers will be available in 'coming months,' the company said. Prices for the new rack and blade G7 servers start at $2,279, based on configuration.
